Curriculum
Learning philosophies
Our school has a particular instructional focus on accelerated learning, with very low student
to teacher ratio, computer technology, college preparation and diagnostic testing. We then prescribe
curriculum to fill in any gaps in their learning and to lay a strong foundation for rapid growth.
This school uses curriculum with a sequence that focuses on building specific content knowledge and
a rich vocabulary. This school also uses direct instruction, an instructional program with fast-paced,
often pre-programmed lessons designed to maximize learning time. We have laptop and desktop computers
available for our students and for use with some of our curriculum. Dual Credit is available for
high school students taking college courses.
Foreign Language(s) taught:
Spanish and German. Our programs focus on teaching fluency.
Activities
Clubs, Performing Arts Programs and Extra-Curricular Activities include: Student Council,
Award Winning Youth Chamber, Drama/Theatre, Art, Chorus, Photography, Personal Finance/Accounting,
Service Learning/Volunteerism, Physical Education, Yearbook, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Mentoring
Program and Speech and Debate.
Sports
Sports and extra-curricular activities include: Basketball; Volleyball; Soccer; Tennis; Softball;
Golf and Cross-Country.
Our school was established in 2002. Our Elementary, Jr. High and High School
Campuses are conveniently located within a block of each other to provide easy pick up and drop
off for all your children. As no transportation is provided to the school, many students ride
their bikes and some families carpool together.
Each year our High School puts on an extraordinary Prom. Our year end Graduation
and Awards Ceremony is remarkable! Our seniors walk with cap and gown, our Kindergarten and Eighth
grade classes are promoted in their gown. Over 20 trophies are presented to our students for
outstanding character and highest academic honors. It is a magnificent ceremony with over 700 in
attendance!
